Estate Planning Lawyers · Family Law Attorneys

Do you regularly revisit your estate plan and update your will?

Do you know the difference between a durable power of attorney and a living will?

Do you know what your rights are during a divorce?

At our Papillion law firm, we know our clients come to us looking for guidance. Our attorneys will help you understand your options and the implications of each option – and then help you pursue results that are achievable, that are reasonable in cost, and that do not expose you to unnecessary risk. If you would like to discuss family law or estate planning with a lawyer from our firm, contact our Papillion, Nebraska law office.

Attorneys Teresa (Terri) Colombo and Michael (Mike) Heavey have extensive experience –over twenty-six years each – in their primary practice areas of family law and estate planning. Not only can they help you with probate administration in Sarpy County or Douglas County, they are sophisticated litigators.

If you have not been treated fairly, they will effectively represent you in a will contest or dispute over the administration of a trust. Although they often are able to help couples negotiate terms of custody and division of property, they will not hesitate to protect your interests and your children’s welfare in divorce court.

Terri Colombo also has over a decade of experience helping families with adoption, including international agency adoption and other adoptions through agencies; family and step-parent adoption; and representation of birth mothers in the adoption process. She also handles guardianships and conservatorships in probate court, and she represents parents and children in abuse and neglect hearings and young people in juvenile court.

Terri also serves as a neutral mediator, helping businesses and individuals throughout the Omaha, Nebraska area resolve disputes privately and economically through alternative dispute resolution.

In addition to his estate planning and probate practice, Mike Heavey is heavily involved in the fields of domestic and civil litigation and appeals in cases involving divorce, removal, and modification of court orders and marriage dissolution agreements. Significant appellate cases he has handled are frequently cited in the Nebraska courts.

Together our attorneys and staff consistently provide our clients with high-quality, personally-tailored legal services. Contact us today for a consultation.
